Universitas Muhammadiyah Kudus (UMKU) mengadakan workshop Pengembangan Kurikulum Berorientasi Outcome Based Education (OBE) pada Kamis, 25 Juli 2024. Workshop yanng berlangsung di Ruang Serbaguna UMKU ini dibuka langsung oleh Wakil Rektor 1 UMKU Sukarmin, M.Kep.
Sukarmin menekankan UMKU bergerak ke arah peningkatan mutu. Menurutnya generasi hari ini perlu mendapatkan skill extra, bukan semata soal ijazah yang lekat dengan nilai kognitif, mahasiswa perlu dibekali kompetensi yang terukur. “Kurikulum yang dikembangkan berbasis Outcome Based Education (OBE), hal tersebut untuk menunjang mutu lulusan, orientasi perkuliahan difokuskan pada capaian yang terukur, relevan dan sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman” katanya. Ia juga menambahkan, dengan kurikulum yang terukur maka pemenuhan SDM yang berkompeten akan diterima baik oleh dunia kerja dan industri.
Mutu perguruan tinggi sering kali dinilai dari kualitas dan kompetensi lulusannya. Kompetensi ini sangat penting karena dunia industri dan dunia kerja membutuhkan lulusan yang berkompeten.
Hal yang sama juga disampaikan oleh Ir. Winda Nur Cahyo, S.T., M.T. Ph.D. Menurutnya, pertumbuhan ekonomi yang pesat di Indonesia telah mendorong peningkatan signifikan dalam kebutuhan akan tenaga kerja di bidang manajemen aset.
“Menjawab kebutuhan SDM, perguruan tinggi harus menyesuaikan kurikulum untuk memenuhi permintaan akan tenaga kerja yang terampil di bidang-bidang diminati duia industri dan dunia kerja”, kata Winda Nur Cahyo.
Kaprodi MTI Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) sekaligus asesor LAM Teknik ini juga mengulas tentang visi keilmuan, profil lulusan, capaian pembelajaran lulusan hingga RPS.
Apresiasi datang dari Kaprodi Teknik Industri UMKU. “workshop kurikulum OBE yang disampaikan narasumber memberikan insight pada para dosen, secara khusus pembicara juga mereview kurikulum dan visi keilmuan di prodi kami, hal tersebut tentu sangat positif dan tambah pengalaman luar biasa” kata Nunung Agus Firmansyah.
